ROSEVILLE CLUB IMPLEMENTS NEW PROGRAM
- ROSEVILLE POLICE PRESS RELEASE, JULY - - BEV SAYS, "ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE, ANOTHER RELEASE, SEPTEMBER -The Roseville Kiwanis Club has implemented a new Program titled KHID, which stands for KIDS HAVE IDENTITY. What started as an idea to put identification labels in bicycle helmets at the annual Roseville BikeFest, has mushroomed into a city-wide, county-wide, and perhaps even state-wide program. The initial project called for 350 labels. Since then more than 10,000 labels have been printed and distributed.
Beverley of the Roseville Club realized that there are a lot of children riding their bicycles, skateboards, and scooters around town, probably most, if not all of them without identification in the case of an accident. She designed the label, named the project, made the contacts for distribution, and approached Office Depot in Roseville to supply the labels and printing.
The purpose of the KHID labels is to provide a name and an emergency telephone number for children wearing bike helmets. In the event the child is involved in an accident requiring medical attention, the label will provide critical information to emergency personnel responding to the accident.
If you are interested in learning more about the program and/or would like your club to implement the project, contact Bev, Kiwanis Club of Roseville...
