TOTAL 'K' DAY, MARCH 16, 2002
…One of the most successful events of the day was held at the Yolo County Grasslands Regional Park, southeast of Davis. Lt. Governor Marv led a group of 50 youth and adults in a major cleanup of the area around over 1000 live oak trees. Participants represented Greater Davis' Builders Club and the UCDavis Circle K Club, the Davis High School Key Club sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Davis, as well as Kiwanians from Davis, Greater Davis, East Sacramento-Midtown, and Woodland.
Vince, a volunteer who heads the tree project, instructed the group on how they could assist with nature in the development of the trees. Then everyone rolled up their sleeves and got to work, completing their assigments in just three hours. All who participated thoroughly enjoyed the education, fellowship and fun of this day.
Hopefully you also had a fine day as we all celebrated in completing service projects worldwide on Total 'K' Day 2002.
